I’m Vasudha; a designer turned design recruiter – specializing in design leadership roles. Over the last decade, I’ve built a strong referral network of designers that helps me connect with the hidden gems in the design industry. Being a designer, I understand the nuances when it comes to hiring/screening designers, and it becomes easier for me to tap into the designer network. The transition happened as my experience of finding the right job/company was pretty frustrating. And I’m trying my bit to ensure that it doesn’t happen with anyone else.

How I work

Nobody enjoys the random cold calls from recruiters. I’ve always enjoyed deep conversations with designers where you get to know the person as a whole and not just the last project they worked on. Unlike other recruitment firms, I don’t really work through databases of designers looking for UX/UI keywords and design school tags. Almost 90% of the designers I send to companies are either my design friends, acquaintances, or their friends.

When working with the firm, I take time to speak with the key stakeholders to understand in-depth about the company, product, roadmap, challenges, opportunities, culture, etc. This is followed by setting a tight-knit hiring process, feedback loops, and reference checks.

I work closely with the hiring managers and share feedback from designers early and often. Along with industry insights, competition benchmarking, question library, and hiring best practices.

All designers I refer to are personally interviewed by me. Along with the customary CV and portfolio, I share an additional document that shares insights about the person (their journey, learnings, ambitions, design skill-set, strengths, and weaknesses, the reason for joining the company, etc).

On average, I’ve maintained an average hiring ratio of 5:1. Few of my clients include Groww, Scripbox Groupon, Flipkart, Housing, Ola, Swiggy, Freshworks, Cleartax, Fractal Analytics, Slice, Vedantu etc.
